CM Fadnavis reviews Maha security

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Amid tension between India and Pakistan, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday reviewed security and preparedness in the state, especially the police and administrative agencies.

Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, state Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Additional Director General of Police of Civil Security Prabhat Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Home Department Radhika Rastogi and Additional Inspector General of Police of Intelligence Department Shirish Jain attended the meeting called by Fadnavis.

The CM told officials to conduct mock drills in all districts and establish a war room at the district level. "Set up a coordination mechanism with hospitals during blackouts. Lights are turned off to avoid being targeted, so keep the system running through an alternative power system, and at the same time, make arrangements so that the light is not visible from outside by using dark-colored curtains or glass," said the CM.

He also directed that in every district, the police's cyber cell should monitor social media and identify the handles that are helping Pakistan and take action against them. "If anyone is helping the enemy or spreading wrong information, take immediate action against them," said the CM.

He said emergency funds would be set aside for every district collector, from which if any urgent material needs to be purchased, it can be done immediately.

"The police department should be more vigilant than usual. Considering the possibility of increasing activities of anti-nationals, conduct more combing operations and make patrols more accurate", he instructed.

The Chief Minister also instructed leave cancellation of all senior officers in important posts in the state, especially health and disaster management departments.
