Immediately assess damage caused by calamities: Jalna Congress MP tells farmers

Jalna, May 7 (UNI) Jalna Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Kalyan Kale on Wednesday said due to unseasonal rains, hailstorms and wind storm across the district there has been immense damage to the standing Rabi season crops such as onion, garlic, summer millet, summer maize, jowar, vegetables, floriculture.
Kale underscored the need to urgently inspect and conduct a panchnama and provide immediate compensation to the affected farmers and citizens.
In his memorandum submitted to the district collector, Kale stated that urgent action should be taken through the concerned department to restore the power supply quickly.
Farmers and common citizens have suffered a lot due to unseasonal rains, windstorms, hailstorm and lightning in the Jalna district between May 5 and May 7.
There has been immense damage to the standing Rabi season crops such as onion, garlic, summer millet, summer maize, jowar, vegetables, floriculture and pantande.
Due to the sudden storm, the roofs and sheets of many houses have been blown away. The sheet shades of the shops have been displaced, causing damage to the goods in the shops. Also, household items in the house have been damaged due to the rain.
Due to the fall of electric poles and breakage of electric wires due to the storm, power supply has been completely disrupted in many areas,he mentioned.
