Biogas and cooperative milk societies can make districts self-reliant: Gopchde

Nanded, Mar 6 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Member Ajit Gopchde on Thursday said setting up biogas plants and forming cooperatives can lay the foundation of making districts self-reliant.He said in cooperation, transparency is important,The MP was speaking at a workshop organised here by the Central Government, Government of Maharashtra, National Dairy Development Board (MUDA) Ltd. for registered farmers and heads of cooperative dairy organisations to install biogas plants in their premises.
Giving detailed information on cooperative society building, milk production, distribution marketing, biogas generation and utility, he said there is a lot of scope for increasing milk production in Nanded district and for this it is necessary to move forward with the mantra of cooperation.
"The Central and state governments are with us in this initiative and we should start it. Cooperative milk societies in the district should also come together to increase milk production." he said.
