Iran ready to discuss its nuclear program - Mission to UN

United Nations, Mar 9 (UNI) Iran is ready to discuss concerns regarding the possible militarization of its peaceful nuclear program, but not ideas aimed at dismantling it, the country's permanent mission to the United Nations said on Sunday.
US President Donald Trump said this week that he sent a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday with an offer to start negotiations on a nuclear deal.
"If the objective of negotiations is to address concerns vis-a-vis any potential militarization of Iran's nuclear program, such discussions may be subject to consideration. However, should the aim be the dismantlement of Iran's peaceful nuclear program to claim that what [former US President Barack] Obama failed to achieve has now been accomplished, such negotiations will never take place," the mission said on X.
