President’s proposed Shimla visit postponed

Shimla, Apr 30 (UNI) The proposed visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Shimla from May 5 to 9 has been postponed, official sources confirmed Wednesday.
A senior central government officer stated that the decision was taken due to multiple factors, including adverse weather forecasts for the region and rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border in the wake of the recent Phalgam massacre.
The incident, which has triggered nationwide concern, is believed to have escalated diplomatic and security sensitivities, prompting a reassessment of high-level movements and public engagements.
The President was scheduled to stay at The Retreat, the official Presidential residence in Mashobra, and the district administration had already begun preparations for her arrival.

While the new dates for the President’s visit have not been announced as yet, officials indicated that a revised schedule will be shared once the situation stabilizes.
