Promoting industrial development; Well-equipped convention centre to be set up in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Apr 27 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Sunday that to promote industrial development, a well-equipped and adequately spaced Industrial Exhibition and Facility Centre (Industrial exhibition-cum-Convention Centre) will be set up in city.
He also announced that an industrial ring road connecting Shendra and Bidkin will be constructed, and five acres land will be provided for EV (electric vehicle) cluster.
The government will provide funds to fill the practical gap while setting up the Industrial Exhibition and Facility Centre, Fadnavis clarified.
He was speaking at the distribution of 'Industry Award 2025' organised by the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) at MIT College here.
Fadnavis also said that various projects are also being brought in the district for creation of infrastructure.
Among them, the country's largest floating solar project will be set up on Jayakwadi dam. The necessary infrastructure for the Delhi-Mumbai (DMIC) corridor has been created here. Through this, the country's first smart industrial city has also been set up in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will have a large share in production of EV (electric vehicles) in the country. The development of the EV cluster here will be promoted.
He also said that the government is going to implement an ambitious project to bring water of the Western Channel rivers flowing into the sea to the Godavari basin to alleviate the drought in Marathwada.
He informed that 50 TMC water will be brought to Marathwada through various projects. Through this, the entire Marathwada will be permanently drought-free, he said.
Apart from this, a plan has been prepared with the help of the World Bank to divert 30 TMC water of the floods caused by heavy rains in Kolhapur and Sangli to Marathwada through Ujani.
He also said that the Shaktipeeth Highway from Nagpur to Goa will pass through all the districts of Marathwada, which will become a lifeline for industries in Marathwada. This highway will give a boost to tourism and religious places as well as industries in Marathwada, he added.
