Punjab: Will revive farmers' agitation, says Dallewal

Chandigarh, Apr 3 (UNI) Sanyukt Kisan Morcha leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal on Thursday said that the farmers' agitation would be revived and his organisaion would hold talks with the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha to decide the next course of action.
Dallewal alleged that he along with other farmer leaders was detained by Punjab police. He said that he
was forced to get medical aid and after his refusal, he was admitted to a private hospital.
The farmer leader said he had refused to take a drop of water until all the farmers were released and took a sip only after the release of farmers on March 29.
He alleged that tractors-trolley of farmers were stolen from protest sites after agitating farmers were removed on March 19. On that day, soon after the farmer leaders' meeting with the Central as well as Punjab ministers at Chandigarh, Dallewal and KMM leader Sarvan Singh Pandher and other farmers were detained.
Later, police also cleared the protest sites.
SKM and KMM were agitating at Khanauri and Shambhu borders since February 2024 after the Haryana government stopped them from going to New Delhi by sealing the borders.
Their demands include a law to guarantee minimum support price on their produce. UNI GS MR SSP

The protest, to be led by State Congress president Pratibha Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, will see participation from senior leaders and workers.
