Puri–Howrah Vande Bharat Express to run with 20 coaches: ECoR

Bhubaneswar, May 15 (UNI) The Puri–Howrah Vande Bharat Express will operate with 20 coaches starting May 16, in response to increasing demand and its continued popularity among passengers and tourists.
Sources from East Coast Railway (ECoR) stated on Thursday that the train will be augmented with four additional AC Chair Car coaches.
Following the augmentation, the upgraded coach composition of the Puri–Howrah Vande Bharat Express will include 16 AC Chair Car coaches, 2 Executive Chair Car coaches, and 2 Crew & AC Chair Car coaches.
This expansion aims to accommodate the growing number of passengers using this prestigious semi-high-speed service.
ECoR sources added that the decision was made after a thorough review of passenger patronage and travel demand, highlighting the Puri–Howrah Vande Bharat Express as one of the most sought-after routes for both daily commuters and tourists.
The enhanced capacity is expected to improve travel convenience, reduce waitlists, and further boost the popularity of this premium train service.
