Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) The State Foundation Days of Rajasthan and Odisha were jointly celebrated in the presence of Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of Universities C.P. Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Friday .
The programme was organised by Maharashtra Raj Bhavan in association with the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara (KBPU).
The State Foundation Day celebration was organised as part of the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' initiative of Government of India.
A cultural programme depicting the folk dance, music and cultural traditions of Rajasthan and Odisha was presented by the students of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara (KBPU).
Audio visual films showing the beauty, history, heritage, cuisine, culture and tourist destinations of the two states were also shown on the occasion.
Rajasthani folk songs 'Kesariya' and 'Zirmir Barase', and folk dances 'Chirami', 'Ghoomar' and 'Kalbeliya' were shown on this occasion.
Odisha folk songs Sambalpuri song - 'Rasarkeli bo' and folk dances - Sambhalpuri Dhalkai were also shown on the occasion.
Former MP Ramshet Thakur, Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware, Provost of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University Chandrakant Dalvi, Vice Chancellor of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University Dr. Dnyanadeo Mhaske, Deputy Secretary to the Governor S Ramamoorthy, Principals of colleges affiliated to the University, members of faculty and students were present on the occasion.
The Governor felicitated the Provost of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara (KBPU) Chandrakant Dalvi and artist - students on the occasion.
Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware delivered the welcome address while Under Secretary (Education) Vikas Kulkarni proposed a vote of thanks.
