Rajasthan: Security tightened, blackout, closure of markets in Jaisalmer during night hours

Jaisalmer, May 9 (UNI) The district administration of Jaisalmer issued guidelines on Friday, which include closure of all markets by 5 pm and a blackout from 6 pm to 6 am.
This came in view of the prevailing tension along the border following the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir and subsequent Operation Sindoor by the Indian Army.
The district administration has tightened security measures in Jaisalmer.
During the blackout period, all types of lights will be switched off, and movement of all vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, will be strictly prohibited. The administration has also prohibited movement within a five-kilometer radius of the army area.
The Ramgarh-Tanot Road will be closed for traffic after 3 pm, and people are advised to complete their journey before that. The use of drones is also banned in the district till July 7, and those possessing drones are required to deposit them at the nearest police station by 5 pm today.
The sale and use of firecrackers has also been prohibited. The administration has appealed to citizens to follow the rules, maintain peace, and remain vigilant.
In a separate incident, a bomb was found in Kishan Ghat village in Jaisalmer district, and the police and army were alerted. The bomb was later defused by an army team.
