Remark on Col Sofiya by MP Minister exposes real face of BJP: Akhilesh

Amethi (UP), May 15 (UNI) Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said that the shameful comment of the Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of Madhya Pradesh on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and the viral video of its leader of Ballia have exposed the party's trick, character and face in front of the public.

Talking to the reporters here, Akhilesh said, "This character and face of the BJP leaders is not being seen for the first time. These people have always done this. BJP's Nari Vandan is only in slogans. When it comes to women's respect and protection, the real face of the BJP is exposed."

He said that Colonel Sofiya Qureshi was constantly briefing the army's military operation to the country and the world. "Such a statement by the Minister of the BJP government about the brave colonel who briefed the army's military operation is highly condemnable. The statement of the BJP Minister is an insult not only to a high military woman officer but to every woman of the country," he said.

The SP chief said, "These BJP Ministers have always been the mouthpiece of the anti-women mindset of the BJP and their allies. A few years ago, they had obstructed the work of a reputed actress of the country. If action had been taken at that time, he would not have got a chance to comment on Colonel Sofia Qureshi today."

He said that the truth of false announcements like BJP's Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan exposes the evil thoughts of such people. "Such people are not worthy of being a Minister, let alone a street or locality's representative. The question is whether BJP will remove them themselves or will the united Nari Shakti and the public remove them," he said.

Akhilesh said that peace is paramount for the country but sovereignty is above all. "Interference of any other country in the internal affairs of India is not acceptable, this is the biggest strength of our constitution and democracy. Sovereignty is our biggest identity," he said.

He said that the government will have to take concrete steps to ensure that the borders remain safe and the country becomes economically strong. "The government should make strong arrangements for the security of the borders, so that there is no infiltration or security lapse again. The security arrangements on the border should be so good that there is no scope for lapse. The more secure the borders are, the more the country will progress," he said.

The SP chief said that security lapses have happened many times before in the BJP government. "The BJP government will be known for lapses, divisions and loot.

He said that victory is celebrated, not cease. "The people of BJP want to deceive the people of the country. The public is aware and wise. When the time comes, it will teach BJP a lesson," he said.

In response to a question, Akhilesh said that BJP is missing in Amethi. "When BJP itself is not true to BJP, then how much true will the party be to the turncoats and ungrateful people who went with them. Those who have betrayed the SP by changing sides. Now they will not be able to win again, because they are ungrateful, treacherous and turncoats. There is no place for such people anywhere," he said.

He said that SP is preparing for the 2027 assembly on the ground. "Corruption and loot are at their peak in the BJP government. It has been learnt that the fountain brought to be installed on the Gomti River Front was stolen during the BJP government. Fountain thieves will not come to power now," he said.
