Rs 1,000 cr irregularities in TASMAC raids : Madras HC reserves orders

Chennai, Apr 21 (UNI) The Madras High Court on Monday reserved its orders
to April 23, on a plea filed by the State-owned TASMAC against the ED raids
that unearthed alleged Rs 1,000 crore irregularities recently.
Hearing petition filed by TASMAC questioning the authority of ED in conducting
the raids, the court after hearing elaborate arguments reserved its orders to
April 23.
During the hearing the TASMAC questioned the authority over ED conducting raids
and said it lacked powers and also alleged that their staffs were insulted and harassed
during the searches.
However, the ED denied the charge and that all laws were followed during the searches.
After hearing the arguments, the court had reserved the orders questioning the validity
of the ED raids and its powers.
