Rs 49.18 crore sanctioned for Gudur Railway Station Redevelopment

Vijayawada, Mar 14 (UNI) In yet another landmark initiative to scale up the infrastructure and passenger amenities in the region, Ministry of Railways has accorded a sanction of whopping Rs 49.18 crore for Gudur Railway Station Redevelopment.



This initiative shall herald in a transformative state-of-the-art facility, enhancing passenger experience and accommodating future growth for the denizens of Tirupati and SPSR Nellore District region.



A Railway release here on Friday said that this redevelopment is part of the South Central Railway's broader initiative to modernize key stations across the region. The project underscores the commitment to providing world-class amenities to passengers and supporting regional economic growth.



The upgraded Gudur Railway Station is poised to become a landmark facility, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region while embracing modern architectural designs.



The key features of the redevelopment project are new station building with ground + 2 floors, cover over platforms for the complete length of platforms from 1 to 5, 12-Metre wide roof plaza from east to west entrance and integrated with station building, Improvements to circulating area and new façade for station building.



Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division Narendra A Patil thanked the Ministry of Railways and the Government of India for prioritizing the infrastructural growth in the region and sanctioning Rs 49.18 Crore.



He stated that the upgraded Gudur Railway Station will be a landmark facility, providing a seamless and comfortable experience for passengers. The DRM underscored that with the latest addition, 21 Railway Stations in the Division are being developed under the ambit ABS (Amrit Bharat Station) Scheme at a cost of Rs.567.41 Crore.
