Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) A man was killed in a tragic road accident when a speeding truck lost control and rammed into a two-wheeler near Kapurbawdi Bridge in neighbouring Thane city, officials said here on Monday.

The incident occurred around on Sunday, resulting in the immediate death of the scooter rider, who was thrown off upon impact, said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic disaster management cell.

Emergency response teams, including police, traffic personnel, and ambulance services, promptly reached the scene. The deceased was transported for a post-mortem examination.

Authorities have launched efforts to identify and apprehend the truck driver, who fled the scene following the collision, a police official said.
