SCR GM flags off 'Sundays on Cycle' Fit India Cyclothon Event in Secunderabad

Hyderabad, June 8 (UNI) Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), flagged off and actively participated in the “Sundays on Cycle” Fit India Cyclothon event held at the Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad.
The event was organised by the SCR Sports Association under the Khelo India Scheme’s Fit India initiative, aiming to promote a culture of fitness among railway employees and the broader community.
The initiative, conducted under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, is part of a nationwide campaign to encourage citizens to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives. Titled “Sundays on Cycle – Two Wheels, One Mission,” the Cyclothon is a thematic fitness drive designed to inspire collective participation in building a fitter nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Kumar Jain lauded the efforts of the SCR Sports Association for organising this timely and impactful event. He emphasised the significance of staying fit in today’s fast-paced world, noting that the Fit India Movement has played a crucial role in motivating individuals to prioritise their health.
He highlighted cycling as an excellent, environment-friendly form of exercise that is gaining popularity worldwide. "Cycling not only improves physical health but also contributes to a greener environment. Every railway employee should actively participate in the Fit India campaign," he said.
Among the dignitaries present were Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager, SCR; Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division; along with senior railway officials, members of the SCR Sports Association, and several sportspersons from across the zone.
