Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) The BSE sensex remained firm for the third straight session on Wednesday, advancing 262 pts to open at 76,996.78 as buying was seen in FMCG, Financial services and Health Care stocks amid positive global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) moved up 25.65 pts at 23,354.20 pts.
The BSE sensex registered intra day high at 77,000.63 and intra day low at 76,569.59 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered days high at 23,372.75 and low at 23,277 pts.
The Mid cap rose 0.43 pc and Small cap by 0.56 pc.
In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined.
The gainers were Axis Bank by 1.87 pc to Rs 1134.85, IndusInd Bank by 1.79 pc to Rs 749, Ultracemco by 0.82 pc to Rs 11813.85 and HDFC Bank by 0.65 pc to Rs 1877.65.
The losers were Maruti Suzuki by 1.41 pc to Rs 11684.75, Infosys by 1.01 pc to Rs 1412.90, Sun Pharma by 0.92 pc to Rs 1689.45 and Tata Steel by 0.77 pc to Rs 135.40.
