Telangana: Bodies of six missing youth recovered from Medigadda Barrage

Jayashankar Bhupalapally, June 8 (UNI) The bodies of six youths who went missing on Saturday evening in the Medigadda Barrage of Mahadevpur Mandal in this district were recovered on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Rakshit (13), Shiva Manoj (15), Sagar (16), Ramacharan (17, Madhusudhan (18), and Rahul (19). Their bodies were shifted to the Government Hospital in Mahadevpur for post-mortem examination.

According to the police, the victims had come to attend a wedding at Ambatpally in Mahadevpur Mandal two days ago. On Saturday, around 1730 hours, they went to the Medigadda Barrage to take a bath. Madhusudhan was the first to enter the water and began drowning. His brother Shiva Manoj attempted to rescue him but also drowned. In a tragic chain of events, four others jumped in to help and met the same fate, resulting in the loss of six lives.

Following a complaint, police launched a search operation and recovered all six bodies with the help of divers on Sunday afternoon.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway, police said.
