Telangana CM remembers Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 118th birth anniversary

Hyderabad, Apr 4 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday hailed freedom fighter and former Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram for his inspiring unparalleled services to the country .
Remembering Babu Jagjivan Ram’s services on the occasion of the national leader’s 118th birth anniversary here, Reddy said Ram was born in a poor family and rose to the highest position with his unwavering dedication.
The CM said that the former Deputy PM participated actively in the freedom struggle and strove for the welfare of the workers as a minister in the cabinet of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Reddy also recalled that Babuji fought for the eradication of untouchability and caste discrimination and worked for the empowerment of Dalits.
“Inspired by Babuji’s dedication to the service of people, the People’s Government conducted the Caste Census and increased BC reservations along with SC classification”, the CM said. UNI KNR SSP
