Telangana Govt hosts industrial roundtable on life sciences sector to enhance skilling ecosystem

Hyderabad, Mar 16 (UNI) The Department of Employment & Training (DET), Government of Telangana, in collaboration with the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) on Saturday, organized an Industrial Roundtable Conference on the Life Sciences Sector under the theme 'Skilling Telangana
for a Brighter Future.'
The conference, part of a six-roundtable series held between March 7 and 21, focused on key sectors such as BFSI, Construction, Retail, Manufacturing, and IT & ITES. It addressed crucial issues related to skill development in the life sciences industry, including the pharmaceutical, medical, and biotechnological sectors.
Prof Devi Prasad Juvvadi, Director of CGG, delivered the welcome remarks, followed by Dr. Sangramsingh Patil, IPS, Additional Director General, CGG, who set the context for the discussions.

Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Labour, Employment, Training & Factories, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the Telangana Government's commitment
to strengthening the state's skill ecosystem.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to revamp Industrial Training Institutions (ITIs) and underscored the importance of involving private players as key stakeholders in their management.
Guest of Honour speakers Dr B Bhaskar Rao, Chairman & Managing Director of KIMS Group, and Rajendar Rao Juvvadi, Founder & CMD of Aurore Lifesciences Pvt. Ltd., shared valuable insights on bridging skill gaps in the life sciences sector.
DET officials presented detailed updates on Telangana’s skill development initiatives, including the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) and the Kshamatha scheme of the Government of India.
The conference also featured extensive discussions on industry expectations, existing skill gaps, and ways to foster collaboration between the government and industry to ensure sustainable skill development.
The event brought together senior management representatives from leading organizations such as KIMS Group, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Continental Hospitals, and Sai Life Sciences. Experts from the Life Sciences Sector Skill Council and the Biotechnology Incubation Centre at Genome Valley also participated in the discussions.
To ensure continued progress, Sectoral Committees comprising members from industry, government departments, and other disciplines will be formed. These committees will play a crucial role in driving ongoing collaboration and addressing skill development challenges effectively, a statement said.
