Telangana Police shine at All India Police Badminton & Table Tennis Cluster, clinch 18 medals

Hyderabad, Apr 22 (UNI) The Telangana Police contingent delivered a stellar performance at the 1st All India Police Badminton & Table Tennis Cluster 2024-25, held at Kadavanthra, Kochi, Kerala, from April 11 to 15.
The team clinched a total of 18 medals across various categories, earning accolades for their exceptional sporting talent.
Director General of Police Dr Jitender congratulated the medal winners and lauded their commitment and spirited participation.
In a felicitation ceremony organised in their honour on Tuesday, Dr Jitender praised the athletes for bringing pride to the state police.
The event was also attended by senior officers, including M. Ramesh, IGP (Sports), and DSP (Sports) Ramarao, along with sports officials and coaches.
The Telangana Police team, consisting of 12 participants including Gazetted Officers (GOs) and Non-Gazetted Officers (NGOs), secured 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 14 Bronze medals in the Badminton and Table Tennis events.
Among the gold medallists were P Seetha Reddy, DSP (CID Hyderabad), and V. Narasimha Rao, Head Constable (PS Saidabad), who triumphed in the NGOs 50+ Mixed Doubles category. The silver medals were won by R Kalinga Rao, ACP (EOW, Cyberabad), and P Seetha Reddy in the GOs Mixed Doubles 50+ category.
The bronze medals were awarded across various categories, including GOs Women Singles 50+, GOs Mixed Doubles 50+, GOs Men Doubles 50+, NGOs Mixed Doubles 50+, NGOs Women Doubles 50+, and GOs Open Women Doubles.
The medal-winning team comprised one Additional SP, seven Deputy Superintendents of Police, one Inspector, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and one Head Constable.
This remarkable achievement was hailed as a proud moment for Telangana Police.
Dr Jitender underscored the importance of fitness and sportsmanship in the police force and encouraged the officers to continue pursuing excellence on and off the field. He also expressed appreciation to the sports wing for nurturing talent and promoting athletic activities within the department, a police statement said.
