Hyderabad, Apr 11 (UNI) Telangana Tourism Secretary, Ms Smita Sabharwal, chaired a high-level review meeting on Friday at the Secretariat to oversee preparations for the upcoming Miss World Festival scheduled for May, including the much-anticipated Kakatiya Heritage Tour and Warangal Tour planned for May 14.
The meeting focused on ensuring seamless arrangements to highlight Telangana’s rich cultural heritage and world-class hospitality to a global audience. Discussions revolved around logistics, security, and curated cultural experiences aimed at showcasing the architectural brilliance of the Kakatiya dynasty and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ramappa Temple, during the heritage tours in Warangal.
Ms Sabharwal emphasised the significance of presenting Telangana as a premier tourism destination that harmoniously blends tradition with modernity. The Miss World Festival is expected to attract international attention and serve as a powerful platform to promote the state’s vibrant culture, cuisine, and historical landmarks.
The Tourism Department is working in close coordination with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure a memorable experience for contestants and visitors alike, further strengthening Telangana’s appeal on the global tourism map.
Participating in the review meeting were Telangana Tourism Corporation MD N Prakash Reddy, IPS; TG Sangeet Natak Akademi Chairperson Alekhya Punjala; Director of Culture M Harikrishna; Hanumakonda Collector Pravinya, Mulugu Collector Divakar, Mulugu SP Shabarish, Director of Youth Services Dr Vasam Venkateswarlu; Miss World representatives; event managers; and senior police officials, according to an official statement.
