Ten dedicated grievance redressal cells set up for benefit of farmers: Minister Shirsat

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 12 (UNI) Maharashtra Social Justice Minister and Guardian Minister of the district Sanjay Shirsat on Monday said that 10 dedicated grievance redressal cells have been established, one at the district level and one at each taluka level for the benefit of farmers, and a helpline number and WhatsApp number has been made available to farmers to address their grievances.

He said information about the schemes of their welfare should be conveyed to the farmers, and for this, information about the schemes should be conveyed to the Gram Sabhas, at the village level.
Take separate meetings of each department and implement measures to provide benefits to the farmers.
Plan so that there is no shortage of anything during the upcoming Khariff season, he further said.
He was speaking in the pre-Khariff season planning meeting which was held today in the District Planning Hall.
Minister for Law Welfare, Dairy Development and Non-Conventional Energy Atul Save, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Ambadas Danve, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Bhagwat Karad, MP Sandipan Bhumre, MP Dr. Kalyan Kale among other district MLAs and concern department officials attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, tributes were paid to the tourists who were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam as well as the soldiers who were martyred in the recent hostilities with Pakistan.
District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Prakash Deshmukh presented the district's Khariff season planning. At this time, public representatives raised issues.

MLA Prashant Bamb, MLA Ramesh Bornare, MLA Vilas Bhumre, MLA Sanjana Jadhav, MLC Sanjay Kenekar, MLA Anuradha Chavan, Opposition leader Ambadas Danve, Dr. Karad, Minister Atul Save, MP Sandipan Bhumre and MP Kale expressed their views and gave suggestions with regard to welfare for the farmers in the district.
Shirsat informed that 10 dedicated grievance redressal cells have been established, one at the district level and one at each taluka level, and these cells will remain functional from May 15 to August 15 and from September 15 to November 30 during the Rabi season.
The Agriculture Department has made a helpline number of 1800 233 4000 available to resolve the grievances of farmers.
The WhatsApp number 9822446655 has also been made available to farmers for clarification of doubts and complaints.
For the Khariff season, a crop loan of Rs 1,596.64 crore has been planned for 1,54,770 farmers in the district. While in the Rabi season, a crop loan of Rs 803. 36 crore has been planned for 75,113 farmers, added Shirsat
