TN Minister invites Kerala CM to attend JAC meeting on Mar 22

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Minister for IT and Digital Services Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan called on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and invited him to attend a Joint

Action Committee (JAC) meeting in Chennai on March 22, to discuss issues related to delimitation

of the Lok Sabha and chart a united course of action.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has taken an initiative to bring together States that would be affected by the impending delimitation, emphasizing the need for a collective and fair approach, the TN Minister said on Friday.

On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, an invitation has been extended to the Kerala Chief Minister to attend the JAC meeting to oppose the unconstitutional delimitation of Lok Sabha, the

TN Minister added.

Recognizing the broader implications for federalism and democratic representation, MK Stalin has called for the JAC meeting to discuss the issues and chart a united course of action.

The TN Minister along with South Chennai MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian also called on CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam, CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan, and the representatives of Kerala Congress Chairperson P.J. Joseph, IUML President Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal.

"We extended the invitation to the JAC meeting on behalf of our Chief Minister and conveyed Tamil Nadu’s firm stance against this blatant assault on federalism," the TN Minister said.

"The leaders we met shared their concerns, affirmed their solidarity, and recognized the serious impact of the impending delimitation. Committed to protecting federal principles and fair representation, they have accepted the invitation and will join us in Chennai for the JAC meeting,"

he added.
