TN to get two electronic manufacturing clusters worth Rs 1,112 cr : Ashwini Vaishnav

Chennai, Mar 15 (UNI) Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Railways, and Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday inaugurated a new manufacturing facility of
Zetwerk Electronics near here and announced that Tamil Nadu will get two major Electronic manufacturing clusters at a cost of Rs 1,112 crore.
Speaking after inaugurating Zetwerk's 7th factory at Sriperumbudur, about 45 km from here,
he said the two clusters would come up at at Pillaipakkam and Manallur to help growth of
electronic manufacturing in the State in a big way.
He also reaffirmed the Centre's commitment to support Indian companies in becoming global
leaders.
The facility launched today involving an investment of about Rs 1,000 crore was Zetwerk's
largest electronics manufacturing facility.
It was situated in a 15-acre area at Pannur in Sripeumbudur in the neighbouring Tiruvallur
district and would offer about 1,500 jobs.
The new facility will play a key role in further strengthening India’s position in the global
Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector, contributing to India’s ambition
of achieving USD 500 billion ESDM market and Tamil Nadu’s vision of becoming a USD
one trillion economy by 2030.
It will manufacture electronic components for various sectors, including consumer durables
and IT hardware for domestic and international markets, besides control boards for washing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners.
Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister TRB Rajaa said as India’s top electronics producer with 36 per
cent share in national exports, TN was at the forefront of India’s manufacturing revolution.
Later, in a social media post, he said Tamil Nadu’s Electronics Revolution continues to charge forward.
"Under the leadership of Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal, we are on
a mission to scale Tamil Nadu’s electronics exports to beyond the 100 Billion USD target !"

for faster connectivity between Industrial hubs in TN", Mr Raaja said.
"This new state-of-the-art facility will manufacture IT hardware, personal computing processors
and high-value electronic components for white goods etc, generating over 1,500 high-quality
jobs and boosting our supply chain capabilities", he said.
"As India’s top electronics producer, Tamil Nadu accounts for 36% of the country’s electronics exports, and investments from cutting-edge companies like Zetwerk further strengthen our ecosystem, and help us power India’s electronics ambitions", the Minister said.
