Trainers from UP to teach Sanskrit conversation' in Delhi

Lucknow, Apr 22 (UNI) As a part of the Uttar Pradesh government's efforts to revive and popularise Dev Bhasha Sanskrit across the country, trainers from the state will now impart conversational Sanskrit training in Delhi, official sources said here on Tuesday.
Sources said that since 2017, the Sanskrit Sambhashan Yojana has been run under the aegis of the UP Sanskrit Sansthan with the active support of the Yogi Adityanath-led state government. "The programme, aimed at teaching spoken Sanskrit, transitioned to an online format post-Covid and has already benefited over one lakh learners across UP and various other states," they said.
Sources said that taking this initiative forward, more than 25 skilled Sanskrit trainers from UP have been invited to participate in a Sambhashan Dakshata Karyashala (Conversational Proficiency Workshop) to be held from April 23 to May 4 by Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi. "Director of the university Prof Madhukeshwar Bhatt has formally invited the trainers through a letter addressed to the Chairman of the UP Sanskrit Sansthan," they said.
Sources said that renowned instructors from cities such as Lucknow, Mathura, Ghaziabad, Fatehpur, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Badaun, Agra, Shamli, Jaunpur, Jhansi and others will take part in the workshop. "Notable participants include Dheeraj Maithani (Lucknow), Radha Sharma (Mathura), Divyaranjan (Ghaziabad), Dr Satya Prakash Mishra (Gorakhpur), Savita Maurya (Lakhimpur Kheri) and Sonika Rani (Meerut), among others," they said.
Sources said that the Saral Sanskrit Sambhashan Yojana was launched in 2017 under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to bring Sanskrit to the common people. "This scheme teaches spoken Sanskrit through simple methods and interactive techniques. Initially conducted offline, the programme has continued online since the Covid pandemic. Every month, people of all ages, from children to senior citizens, benefit from this scheme. Even government officials are learning Sanskrit through it," they said.
Sources said that the Sanskrit Bharati has also launched a campaign to conduct 1008 Sanskrit Sambhashan Shivir across the country. "It is a matter of pride for UP Sanskrit Sansthan that its teachers have been invited to the Sambhashan Dakshata (Conversational Proficiency) programme organised by the Central Sanskrit University," they said.
Training coordinator from Lucknow Dheeraj Maithani said, "Sanskrit Bharati has taken the initiative of 1008 Sanskrit Sambhashan Shivir (conversation camps). It is a matter of pride for UP Sanskrit Institute that teachers from the state have been invited to the conversation proficiency programme organised by the Central University. Due to the Yogi government, our respect has increased in other states as well."
Trainer from Mathura Radha Sharma said, "It is due to the Sanskrit Sambhashan Yojana being run by the UP Sanskrit Sansthan under the leadership of CM Yogi that we have been invited to Delhi. This is a proud moment for us."
Trainer from Ghaziabad Divyaranjan said, "The Yogi government is not only promoting Sanskrit, but also supporting the preservation of Vedic knowledge and scriptures. Because of this, people in UP are also learning Yoga, priestly rituals and astrology through the Sanskrit Sansthan. Being invited to Delhi because of this scheme is a proud experience for UP teachers."
Former Chairman of UP Sanskrit Sansthan Dr Vachaspati Mishra said, "The Yogi government is fully committed to promoting Sanskrit. Wherever the teachers of the UP Sanskrit Sansthan are called, they are always ready to serve the cause of Sanskrit."
