Two brothers get life for youth's murder in Etawah

Etawah (UP), Mar 25 (UNI) Two brothers were sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 40,000 each by a local court on Tuesday in connection with murder of a youth in Etawah district here in Uttar Pradesh, a prosecution counsel said here.
District Government Counsel (DGC) Shiv Kumar Shukla said that on February 13, 2023, Reena, a resident of Chakva Khurd of Basrehar area, had lodged a case that Gaurav and his brother Saurabh assaulted her husband Kanhaiya death. "The complainant alleged that the accused took the body to the banks of Yamuna river and burnt it, After identification from the half-burnt body, a case was registered," he said.
He said that Investigating Officer Ankush Kumar Raghav filed the charge sheet against the accused in the court on the basis of evidence. "All prosecution witnesses were presented before the court and were directed to testify immediately," he said.
The DGC said that after hearing the arguments the court Additional District Judge Ankur Sharma held both the accused guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 40,000 each.
