Two children charred to death as gas cylinder explodes

Badaun (UP), Apr 3 (UNI) Two children were charred to death when a gas cylinder exploded after fire in a hut in Kadar Chowk area of Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that Jaipal Singh, a resident of Jinsi Nagla village, had put up a hut outside the village. "On Thursday afternoon the hut caught fire after which the gas cylinder kept inside it exploded," they said.
Police sources said that Sumit (5) and his cousin Deepak (6), residents of Champatpur Devchara village of Bareilly, playing outside the hut, were charred to death in the incident. "The fire tenders which reached after getting information from the villagers controlled the fire," they said.
Police sources said that Sumit's father Jaipal had gone to work in the field at the time of the incident. "Deepak had come to his uncle Jaipal's house just eight days ago. After getting the information, police reached the spot and started the investigation," they said.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mohit Singh said that a gas cylinder exploded due to fire in the hut, due to which two children died. He said that three persons sustained minor injuries and were discharged after first aid.
