Bulandshahr (UP), Aprl 24 (UNI) Two persons wanted in the murder of a petrol station manager were arrested in an encounter with Secunderabad police of Bulandshahr district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior officer said on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police (City) Shankar Prasad said that during an encounter late on Wednesday night, the police arrested two of them. They carried a reward of Rs 25,000 each and were wanted in the murder of a petrol station manager.
He said on Wednesday night, the Secunderabad police were checking suspicious persons near Hadimpur Gate on the basis of information. The two suspects were seen coming on a motorcycle from village Jaoli. "When the police signalled them to stop, they started firing at the police and ran towards the forest at a high speed," he said.
He said during a chase, the motorcycle the two suspects were riding slipped off the road. "Seeing themselves surrounded by the police, the criminals started firing. In the retaliatory firing, two criminals were shot in their legs. During interrogation, the arrested criminals were identified as Lalit and Sachin," he said.
The SP said the Police have recovered illegal arms and cartridges from the possession of the criminals. He said the arrested criminals committed the murder of the petrol station manager on Sikandrabad-Kakod road under Sikandrabad police station area on April 9.
