Two youths drown while bathing in river in Bahraich

Bahraich (UP), May 10 (UNI) Two youths drowned while taking a bath in the river in Nanpara area of Bahraich district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said.
Police sources said that Peru alias Raju (25), a resident of Botania, and Rahul (26), a resident of Ayodhya worked as labourers in Punjab. "Both had returned home three days ago to attend an auspicious programme," they said.
Police sources said that the incident took place while they had gone to take bath in the river.
"On getting information about the drowning, the villagers immediately informed the police and divers. After about an hour of hard work, both the bodies were taken out of the river with the help of divers and villagers," they said.
Police sources said that the police informed the family members and sent the bodies to the district hospital for postmortem examination. "The police have started investigations in the matter," they said.
