Hyderabad, June 8 (UNI) Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will visit Hyderabad on June 9, as part of the ongoing Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA)—a nationwide outreach initiative by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) aimed at connecting farmers with scientific advancements during the pre-Kharif season.
During his visit, the Minister will interact with farmers at Mansanpally and Ramachandraguda villages in Ranga Reddy district and address a gathering at Mangalpalli village. The campaign, coordinated by ICAR-ATARI Zone X, covers Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, involving Krishi Vigyan Kendras, ICAR institutes, and state agricultural bodies.
The visit will also include the laying of a foundation stone and inspection of facilities at ICAR–Indian Institute of Millets Research, Rajendranagar. An exhibition showcasing innovations from Telangana KVKs and ICAR institutes will be held alongside.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary, Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, and senior ICAR officials will also participate.
Over 1,500 farmers and farm women are expected to attend the event aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture and technology adoption, an official statement said on Sunday.
