UP's eco-tourism potential draws interest from US and Germany

Lucknow, May 2 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board showcased the state’s growing eco-tourism offerings, drawing attention from leading tour operators from USA, Germany, UK, France, Australia and India during Tres India 2025, held in New Delhi.
The attendees showed special interest in the Bundelkhand region, which is expected to benefit from increased international attention and tourism activity.
Speaking on the occasion, Tourism and Culture Minister of UP Jaiveer Singh highlighted that UP currently leads India in domestic tourism and is now working to strengthen its footprint in international markets. "Events like Tres India provide a critical platform for such expansion," he said.
The two-day event featured participation from around 50 international tour operators, 80 destination management companies, 50 domestic travel agents, 40 luxury travel agencies, 80 inbound travel companies and several prominent social media influencers.
The Minister said that the event served as an ideal opportunity for tourism entrepreneurs from UP to present emerging destinations, curated experiences and boutique properties. Some of the key presentations from property owners included Planters Bungalow (Prayagraj), My Mom's Village (Basti), Mahmoodabad House (Lucknow), Anand Bhawan (Kannauj), Gulmohar (Banda), Mela Kothi Chambal Safari Lodge and Jagir Dudhwa.
UP's tourism itineraries were shared and promoted extensively with global tour operators and destination managers. UP Tourism plans to further organise FAM trips for international agents, curated visits for media representatives, domestic tour plans and participation in global travel events like World Travel Mart.
The Bundelkhand region, in particular, will be promoted on an international scale. "Tres India is a valuable opportunity to spotlight the state's cultural heritage, spiritual destinations and experiential tourism on a global platform," Singh said.
