Vijayendra, Chalavadi hit out at Stalin over delimitation stand

Bengaluru, Mar 31 (UNI) Karnataka BJP leaders Vijayendra Yediyurappa and Chalavadi Narayanaswamy on Monday criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin over his stand on the delimitation issue, accusing him of attempting to create divisions.
Speaking to reporters here, Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra challenged Stalin to first resolve the Cauvery dispute before making any further statements. "If the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu truly cares for the people of Karnataka, let him come forward and resolve the Cauvery dispute first. Then we will respond to him," he said.
Narayanaswamy, who is LoP in State Legislative Council, also hit out at Stalin for his stance on delimitation and repeatedly raising the issue of Hindi imposition despite assurances from the Centre. "Many times, our central leaders have confirmed that Hindi will not be forced on anyone. However, he continues to raise the same issue. Stalin seems to think that only Tamil Nadu represents India," he said.
He further stated that Dravidian identity is a cultural concept and not a political ideology or caste. "Dravidians are not against Indian culture, they are part of it. Yet, he seeks to divide the country in the name of regionalism, but no one will accept his formula," Narayanaswamy said.
Replying to a query on Waqf Amendment Bill, Narayanaswamy said, "Whatever the government has decided will proceed as planned. There is no religious reservation. All of this has been created by the Congress party to appease certain groups."
BJP MLC and Spokesperson N Ravi Kumar also criticised Stalin's remarks, stating, "What MK Stalin is talking about is wrong. His statement that the Union Government is dividing India and does not pay importance to the South Indian people is wrong. I condemn this statement." UNI BDN SSP
