Ahilyanagar, Apr 3 (UNI) Police have arrested a youth who was selling narcotic pills and injections, and seized narcotic pills and injection medicine bottles as well as 16 mobile phones from him, in Shrirampur city, of Ahilyanagar district in Maharashtra.
Additional Superintendent of Police Basavaraj Shivpuje, addressing a press conference on Wednesday evening, said the accused Matin Sheikh (19), a resident of Nehrunagar, Ward No. 1, Shrirampur, has been arrested.
Police are also searching for his brother Alex alias Mustakim Mehboob Sheikh and Khwaja Patel.
On Wednesday, Inspector Nitin Deshmukh received confidential information that Matin Sheikh of Shrirampur, was going to sell narcotic pills and injections in Ward No. 7, Shrirampur area. The police team laid a trap with a police officer and arrested the said person and searched him. During the search, bottles of drugs that are narcotics and harmful to the human body, were found in his possession.
Matin did not have any license to sell these injections and he did not have a receipt for such injections from any medical officer. Therefore, a case was registered against Matin Sheikh and his brother Alex alias Mustakim Mehboob Sheikh and Khwaja Patel, who supplied the said injections to him, at Shrirampur City Police Station under Sections 123, 925,210,278 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.
The action was taken by Police Inspector Nitin Deshmukh, Saponi Ganesh Jadhav, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ola, Additional Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Kalubarma, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Basavaraj Shivpuje and other police. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ganesh Jadhav.
