‘Baad Mein Bihar, Chhathi Maiya Khewanha’ gives voice to flood-hit Bihar

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) The pain of flood-hit Bihar finds expression in "Bigg Boss OTT 1" famed Akshara Singh’s latest Bhojpuri song 'Baad Mein Bihar, Chhathi Maiya Khewanha', which combines the anguish of those affected by the disaster with their enduring faith in Chhathi Maiya.
Presented in the soulful voice of popular actress-singer Akshara Singh, this song connects the flood-hit Bihar with folk faith and hope.
Lyricist Manoj Bhavuk has given simple and poignant words to the suffering of families, farms, barns, and common people amidst the horrors of the floods. In this hour of crisis and an atmosphere of worship, the central theme of the song is an appeal to all the gods and goddesses – Durga Maiya and Chhathi Maiya, among others – to help Bihar sail through. Madhukar Anand has composed music filled with compassion, prayer, and hope, in keeping with the sentiments of the song. Bhavuk's sensitive words and Anand's emotional music are given effective voice by Akshara Singh's powerful singing.
Singh's performance is considered special because she personally travelled to Bihar during the floods to help the flood victims. The 33-year-old actress, who deeply felt the suffering of the people, naturally deepened the song's anguish and prayer in her voice. Known for her artistry and human compassion, she not only sang the song but also lived its spirit with soul.
Renowned poet Bhavuk has previously given voice to the social concerns of migration, exodus, and Bihar in Chhath songs like "Palayan ke dard, sun ae Chhathi Maiya" and "Jage UP-Bihar." The next installment in this sensitive creative journey is "Baadh Mein Bihar, Chhathi Maiya Khevanhaar," released by Harmonia Records—in which the pain of disaster, the empathy of folk life, and the faith of hope amidst adversity are simultaneously heard.
