‘Dhood’ trailer offers a glimpse into Rajasthan of the early 1990s

Jaipur, Oct 6 (UNI) The trailer of "Dhood" (Sandstorm), a period drama rooted in Rajasthan of the early 1990s, was unveiled here on Tuesday in the presence of the film’s cast and crew.
Following the overwhelming response to the film's teaser, the filmmakers released the official trailer at an event in Jaipur. The entire cast and crew of the film were present on the occasion. Kalam Academy and Samar Jain present Dhood (Sandstorm), produced by Soul of Desert Productions in association with Studio Aank, and will hit theatres on October 23.
Penned and helmed by Anand Singh Chauhan, this film is being considered an important milestone for the cinema of Rajasthan.
Talking about the film and its journey, Chauhan said, "Dhood is very close to my heart because the story is rooted in the soil of Rajasthan but the emotions at its core are universal. We have tried our best to ensure that the world of the film feels completely authentic to the time, place and culture, while ensuring that its drama, conflict and emotions resonate with every viewer. The response to the teaser has been extremely encouraging and we wanted to give the audience a deeper glimpse into this world through the trailer."
He said, "Taking this Rajasthani story to cinema audiences across the country is a huge responsibility and an extremely exciting opportunity for us. The film's music and lyrics have been composed by Mehul Surti, known for his acclaimed work in 'Hellaro.'"
Speaking about his experience of being a part of the movie, actor Yashpal Sharma said that what first connected him to Dhood was the world Anand created and the honesty with which the characters were written. The story is rooted in the soil of Rajasthan, but its emotions are relatable to every viewer—family, ambition, authority, fear, relationships, and the compulsion to protect what one holds dear.
He said, "My character has many layers and portraying its complexity was a very satisfying experience for me. I truly believe that the audience will get to see something new and different in this film."
The film stars veteran actor Yashpal Sharma, along with Alka Amin, Bhawani Singh Chauhan, Vivek Pareek, Praveen Chaudhary, Vaniki Tyagi, and others. The story captivates audiences from the first scene of the trailer to the final moment. The film features powerful dramatic scenes, emotions, powerful dialogue, heart-touching music, and breathtaking views of Rajasthan.
The film is a story of greed, power, compulsion, and the struggle to preserve a family legacy. Set amidst a deeply traditional society, the story explores the challenges of relationships and ambitions. The trailer offers a glimpse into a story deeply rooted in the soil of Rajasthan, yet universal in its sentiments. UNI NST CDS
