Hyderabad, Jun 23 (UNI) The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed 'Balidan Diwas' on Monday, marking the death anniversary of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh,
Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy paid floral tributes to the leader at BJP's state headquarters in Nampally.
He hailed Dr Mukherjee’s contribution to national unity, especially his opposition to Article 370 and his sacrifice for the integration of Kashmir with India.
In a parallel event at Karimnagar, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with party leaders, paid homage by garlanding Dr Mukherjee’s portrait. He lauded Dr Mukherjee as a visionary who championed the cause of 'One Nation, One Flag, One Constitution' and sacrificed his life for that ideology.
Sanjay emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilled Mukherjee’s dream by abrogating Article 370 and is working towards making India self-reliant and globally competitive through initiatives like Make in India.
Senior BJP leaders, including Gangadi Krishna Reddy, Guggilla Ramesh, Banda Ramana Reddy, and Kolagani Srinivas, were present at the commemorative events.
