‘Ente Keralam 2025’: KSUM pavilion hogs limelight with cutting-edge tech

Thiruvananthapuram, May 19 (UNI) From eco-friendly disposable utensils to high-tech robots, from a ‘teacher robot’ to smart farming systems and manhole cleaning robots -- the pavilion of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) at the ongoing ‘Ente Keralam 2025’ exhibition at Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds here offers an array of innovative products showcasing the transformative impact of futuristic technologies in daily life.
Organised as part of the state government’s fourth anniversary celebrations, the expo, which got underway on May 17, underscores the strength of state’s vibrant startup ecosystem in leveraging cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and machine learning for coming out with a wide range of products and solutions.
KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika said the KSUM pavilion vividly displays the vital impact of cutting-edge technologies in modern world and it also sheds light on the unique prowess and innovations of Kerala startups.
Aligning with the theme ‘AI for Common People,’ the KSUM pavilion is displaying products and solutions based on technologies such as AI, augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR), 3D printing, drones, robotics, and Internet of Things (IoT).
One of the major highlights at the stall is the humanoid robot named ‘Iris’ developed by Makerlabs, a startup nurtured by KSUM. A robot developed to aid students for educational purposes, Iris is essentially a ‘teacher robot’ that gives audio answers to queries.
The famed ‘Bandicoot’ robot developed by Genrobotics, also a KSUM-backed startup, is another riveting product on display at the pavilion. The world’s first manhole-cleaning robot, ‘Bandicoot’ has features like real-time camera monitoring, gas detection, contactless waste collection and disposal.
The Robo-toy dog ‘Ben’, developed by Unique World Robotics, is another major attraction at the pavilion.
Many other innovative startups like Papila, which makes eco-friendly disposable utensils; Orgayaayur, a startup that specializes in maintaining garden and smart farming systems, VR-aided gaming and storytelling systems developed by Embright Technologies are attracting the visitors.
KSUM’s pavilions has been adjudged the best pavilion during its ‘Ente Keralam’ exhibition at Kottayam, Idukki, Alappuzha and Kannur.
The pavilion will be open for the public till May 23.
