"Voter lists be linked to Aadhaar, biometric systems be implemented at booth level": Akhikesh

Lucknow, Oct 26 (UNI) Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav continuing his attack on the ECI and BJP, demanded that voter lists be linked to Aadhaar and that biometric systems be implemented at the booth level.

He said that voter ID cards should be designed to be inaccessible.
Yadav also alleged collusion between the BJP and the Election Commission. Citing examples of certain names, Akhilesh claimed that a large number of entries had been made in the voter list.
He said that the Commission should investigate such irregularities with the help of technology.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday during joining of several prominent leaders from other parties, he alleged that the BJP is rigging the voter list and committing vote theft.

"Entries of the same name are appearing in multiple districts and that it is the Election Commission's responsibility to ensure that no eligible voter is left out and no wrong names are entered" he said.

The SP president questioned the state's law and order situation, saying he wasn't aware of the reasons behind some of the killings, but he believed the law and order situation was among the worst in the country.
He also raised the issue of alleged irregularities in reservations, referring to the TGT recruitment process.
Yadav accused the BJP of raising the issue of infiltration during the elections and failing to protect the borders.
He also cited reports of Chinese incursions in Arunachal Pradesh.

Regarding the opposition alliance, Yadav said that he wants to strengthen it and work together to oust the BJP from power in Uttar Pradesh.
He stated that his goal is not to attain power, but to serve the people.
The SP president appealed to party workers to strengthen the party at the booth level.
He also said that BJP MLAs seeking SP tickets should be brought before him.

He stated that if the Samajwadi Party forms the government, the outsourcing system will be abolished and special announcements will be made for the benefit of sanitation workers.
Akhilesh stated that work will be done to ensure that poor families have ownership rights to their homes. Arrangements will be made to build separate housing for those who do not have homes.

SP president said that the new joinings have created political turmoil from east to west.
Calling the new allies the pillars of the PDA, he said that the coming of these leaders will be significant in winning the election.
