14 Pakistani soldiers killed, 24 injured in suicide car bomb attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Islamabad, June 28 (UNI) At least 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed and over 24 injured in a suicide car bomb attack targeting a Pakistani military convoy in the Khaddi area of North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the military convoy, according to social media reports.

The Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group (HGB), a faction of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) that has strong ties to the Afghan Taliban, has claimed responsibility.

However, according to Dawn, eight security personnel were killed in the suicide bombing.It quoted a statement by KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemning the attack, which took place in the Mir Ali area in North Waziristan.The attack comes days after two soldiers were killed in KP’s South Waziristan district.Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in terror activities, especially in KP and Balochistan, after the TTP ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.The country ranked second in the Global Terrorism Index 2025, with the number of deaths in terrorist attacks rising by 45 per cent over the past year to 1,081, Dawn reported.
