15th Dharamshala International Film Festival to Begin on October 29

Dharamshala, Oct 17 (UNI) The four-day 15th edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) will be held at the Tibetan Children’s Village in Upper Dharamshala from October 29 to November 1, bringing world cinema and prominent filmmakers to the Himalayan region.
Festival Director Ritu Sarin said film enthusiasts and renowned film personalities from India and abroad were expected to attend the event.
She said the festival was bringing world cinema closer to local audiences while revitalising cultural activities in the region. The annual event also attracts tourists and film lovers, strengthening Dharamshala’s cultural identity and promoting tourism.
Sarin said around 50 per cent of participants at previous editions had come from outside Dharamshala, contributing to local tourism and associated economic activities.
The festival also provides emerging filmmakers from the Himalayan region an opportunity to interact with experienced film professionals, learn from their expertise and develop their creative skills.
Special screenings and educational activities for school students are also organised to nurture their interest in cinema and introduce them to diverse forms of creative expression, she added. UNI AR CDS
