Haryana CM claims 76 poll promises fulfilled, Rs 9,500 crore investment commitments from overseas visits

Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said his government had fulfilled 76 of the 217 promises made in the BJP's 2024 assembly election manifesto, while work on the remaining 141 was progressing rapidly.
Presenting his government's two-year report card at a press conference at Haryana Niwas here, Saini said his recent visits to Sweden and Singapore had resulted in investment commitments worth Rs 9,500 crore. Proposed investments of Rs 4,000 crore linked to Sweden were expected to generate more than 11,000 employment opportunities in the state.
"Of the 217 commitments made in our election manifesto, 76 have been fulfilled, while work on the remaining 141 is progressing rapidly," Saini said.
He said investors from Sweden and Singapore had been invited to the proposed 'Happening Haryana' global investment event in 2027.
Listing major achievements, the Chief Minister said the government had implemented the Deen Dayal Lado scheme, ensured MSP procurement for 24 crops, introduced stringent provisions against the sale of spurious fertilisers and taken steps to curb illegal migration through the 'donkey route'.
He said the government had also introduced free dialysis facilities for kidney patients in government hospitals and health coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh for people aged 70 and above under Ayushman Bharat.
Saini claimed Haryana was the first state to implement the three new criminal laws and to announce MSP procurement for 24 crops. Women had been given 33 per cent reservation in fair-price shop allocations, while a transgender welfare board had been constituted.
Highlighting infrastructure development, he referred to the Rs 6,220-crore Rithala-Kundli Metro corridor, an 800-MW thermal power unit at Yamunanagar and major highway projects worth Rs 9,700 crore.
On agriculture, Saini said Rs 1.88 lakh crore had been transferred directly to the accounts of around 12 lakh farmers towards crop procurement payments.
"Farmers are receiving payment within 48 hours of the issuance of the exit gate pass for their produce," he said.
He said farmers had received Rs 1,970 crore in crop insurance compensation during the past two years, while around 16 lakh farmers had received Rs 1,678 crore under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
The government had set a target of bringing one lakh acres under natural farming in 2026-27, against 20,727 acres cultivated through the practice in 2025-26, he added.
On housing and welfare, Saini said 16,477 eligible families had received residential plots, while 1.56 lakh houses had been provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
He said Rs 2,744 crore had been disbursed to 73,449 families under the Dayalu scheme, while eligible poor households were receiving LPG cylinders at Rs 500.
The Chief Minister said 1,00,538 solar installations had been completed under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, while the OBC creamy-layer income ceiling had been raised from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
Saini said the government remained committed to fulfilling the remaining manifesto promises and accelerating investment, employment generation, and infrastructure development.
