2.21 lakh Tripura farmers set to receive Rs 44.24 crore under PMKSN

Agartala, Oct 31 (UNI) About 2.21 lakh eligible farmers in Tripura are set to receive a total of Rs 44.24 crore as part of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKSN) scheme, following the release of its 24th instalment for beneficiaries nationwide by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a programme to be held in Gujarat, stated Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
Nath elaborated that the farmers of Tripura have collectively received a substantial amount of Rs 1,065 crore under the PM-KISAN initiative to date, with North Tripura emerging as the leading district in the state regarding financial disbursement, having received Rs 194.76 crore.
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme exemplifies the Central government's commitment to fostering financial independence among farmers across the country.
He attributed the introduction of numerous initiatives aimed at bolstering the agricultural sector and enhancing the economic circumstances of farmers to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Elucidating the financial framework of the scheme, Minister Nath mentioned that eligible registered farmers benefit from direct financial assistance of Rs 2,000, which is disbursed three times per year, thereby providing essential support to farming households.
According to Minister Nath, approximately 110 million farmers throughout India have availed themselves of the benefits provided by this scheme, while Tripura boasts around 285,000 registered beneficiaries.
Moreover, the direct bank transfer mechanism employed by the scheme ensures that eligible beneficiaries receive their financial support directly, without the involvement of intermediaries.
Minister Nath also noted that India's agricultural sector is making significant strides towards achieving self-sufficiency in various areas, as the country continues to advance its efforts to enhance agricultural capabilities.
