25 injured as bus overturns in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham

Kabirdham, May 25 (UNI) 25 people got injured when a speeding passenger bus overturned in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday morning. The injured were rushed to the hospital with the help of local villagers.

Eyewitnesses said the bus, which was traveling from Korba to Kabirdham, was being driven at a high speed and the driver lost control of the vehicle near Kishungarh, causing it to overturn in a nearby field. Many passengers sustained serious injuries.

The accident occurred when villagers were preparing to head to their fields. Local residents quickly came to the rescue, helping passengers get out of the bus and taking them to the hospital.

Pandaria police arrived at the scene with an ambulance, and the injured were admitted to the Pandaria Community Health Centre.

Pandaria Station In-charge Nitin Tiwari said the bus was en route from Korba to Kabirdham when it lost control and overturned. The injured received immediate medical attention, and statements will be recorded after medical examination. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the accident. UNI XC AKT SSP
