45,250 BLOs mobilised for Odisha voter enrolment drive

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 (UNI) Odisha has mobilised 45,250 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) along with 31 District Election Officers and hundreds of other election officials for a statewide special drive to enrol eligible voters left out of the electoral rolls, said officials on Thursday.
The campaign, led by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, covers all Assembly constituencies and aims to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll. The workforce includes 147 Electoral Registration Officers, 719 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and 4,540 BLO supervisors.
The CEO’s office said the proactive campaign would continue to identify eligible voters and facilitate their enrolment. Citizens have been urged to check their names in the final electoral roll and file claims or objections wherever necessary.
Eligible citizens whose names are missing can apply for enrolment using Form 6. Voter registration is a year-round exercise, and applications can be submitted at any time.
Form 7 can be used to object to the inclusion of a name or seek deletion of a name from the existing electoral roll. Form 8 covers shifting of residence, correction of entries, replacement of the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and marking of voters with disabilities.
People facing difficulties related to electoral rolls or requiring assistance with Form 6 can call the voter helpline at 1950. Helpdesks are also available at District Election Officer offices and Electoral Registration Officer offices in the respective Assembly constituencies during office hours.
The CEO’s office reiterated its commitment to ensuring that every eligible voter is included in the electoral roll.UNI MK AAB
