The event, held in the presence of Arts and Culture Minister Sanbor Shullai, kicked off with a historic tribute to 25 iconic individuals who shaped Shillong's legacy over the past hundred years, who were honoured posthumously as “Trailblazers.”

Congratulating the residents of the locality, the Chief Minister said Rilbong had distinguished itself over the past century from the peaceful coexistence of its diverse communities to the contributions of individuals across different walks of life.

He expressed profound gratitude to the families of the awardees, many of whom travelled from the United States, Delhi, Kolkata, Dibrugarh, and across Shillong to receive the honours.
