A fighter plane painted in pink enamel reflects patriotism in defence of the nation

Varanasi, Oct 23 (UNI) As the Indian Air Force's acrobatics are on show over the Ganga, artisans in Kashi are reinventing patriotism and respect for military power through their art.
Inspired by the "Wings Over the Ganga" air show being held in Varanasi, National Award-winning pink enamel artist Kunj Bihari Singh has created a unique fighter plane artwork. He intends to present it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit on October 25. Kunj Bihari Singh explained that the artwork took about a month to create and used approximately 400 grams of silver. Adorned with intricate pink enamel work, the artwork showcases the fusion of Kashi's traditional art and modern India's military might.
He explained that after sending a picture of the fighter plane to several customers, he received orders for approximately 100 artworks. This includes orders from California and Australia. Demand for this product in various sizes is expected to open new markets for traditional handicrafts.
Earlier, artisans had also created a replica of the BrahMos missile from pink meenakari during Operation Sindoor, which received praise both domestically and internationally.
Singh said that the state government's efforts related to GI and One District, One Product (ODOP), along with training, tool kits, and improved packaging, have encouraged pink meenakari. This is increasing youth interest in this traditional art and creating new employment opportunities for artisans. UNI XC-MBD CDS
