Aaditya Thackeray moves HC to intervene in Disha Salian’s father’s plea

Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray moved the Bombay High Court seeking court nod to intervene in a petition filed by celebrity manager Disha Salian’s father, who has sought a fresh probe in the matter of her death, while alleging foul play and political pressure involving him.Satish Salian filed the petition earlier this year, seeking a probe into the mysterious circumstances under which Disha was found dead in June 2020. Disha was the manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.The plea alleges that Disha Salian was “brutally raped, murdered, and subjected to a politically orchestrated cover-up.” It claims to seek the exposure of a web of lies, corruption, and suppression of facts behind the murder, allegedly to protect certain influential persons.
In his plea, Thackeray contended that he should be given an opportunity to be heard, as he would be “adversely affected” if any orders are passed in a “false, frivolous, and motivated litigation filed by the petitioner to settle a grudge, personal and political vendetta.”Moreover, the plea also pointed out that the case has been thoroughly probed by various investigating agencies. The Supreme Court of India had taken cognisance of the issue on Salian’s petition and directed the CBI to investigate the case. In addition, an “impartial” investigation is being undertaken by the state-appointed Special Investigation Team.
It was submitted that Thackeray hails from a respectable family and that there have been a series of attempts in the recent past to defame him and his family members.It may be recalled that the state and Mumbai police have categorically denied that Disha Salian was raped and murdered, which is considered as a major relief to Aaditya Thackeray After perusing the affidavit, the bench of Justices Ajey Gadkari and Rajesh Patil which is hearing the matter had questioned the state government as to why a reply affidavit was filed by a senior police inspector instead of the Chief Secretary, as directed by the court on April 30.
