Air India, IndiGo flights to West Asia badly impacted

Mumbai, June 24 (UNI) As war clouds hover over the West Asian region, flights of private carriers Air India and IndiGo airlines have been badly hit.

Amid the developing situation, AI has stopped all operations to the region as well as to and from the East Coast of North America and Europe, with immediate effect, until further notice, officials said here on Tuesday.

AI's India-bound flights from North America are diverting back to their respective origins and others are being diverted back to India or re-routed away from the closed airspaces.

Similarly, IndiGo said that it's incoming-outgoing services at Dubai, Dohar, Bahrain, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Ras -Al-Khaimah, plus Tbilisi are impacted.

However as airports gradually reopen, the IndiGo said it will make prudent decisions to progressively resume operations.
