Mumbai, June 24 (UNI) Maharashtra witnessed no revision in petrol and diesel prices Tuesday, maintaining rates unchanged from May 2025 levels and offering temporary respite to consumers amid persistent inflationary pressures.
The 6 AM price bulletin confirmed stability across all districts, with inter-city variations continuing due to localised taxation and transportation factors.
Petrol remains above 104 per litre in most regions, with Ahmednagar recording 104.89 and Aurangabad 105.18. Eight districts – Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Yavatmal – registered a uniform 105.50 per litre. Mumbai retained its position as the lowest-cost metro at 103.50 for petrol.
Diesel prices similarly held firm, ranging from 90.03 in Mumbai to 92.03 in high-cost districts. Ahmednagar reported 91.40, while Aurangabad stood at 91.68. This follows May's trend, where diesel fluctuated narrowly between 91.24 and 91.37 statewide.
The static pricing stems from the dynamic fuel adjustment mechanism, which daily recalibrates rates based on global crude benchmarks, rupee-dollar exchange rates, and domestic operational costs.
Despite the current pause, officials advise citizens to monitor daily 6 AM updates, as volatility in international markets could trigger revisions.
The extended stability period marks an unusual departure from typical weekly fluctuations observed through 2025.
