Maha: Father, son die of electrocution in Jamkhed Taluka

Ahilyanagar, June 24 (UNI) A forty-two-year-old man and his son died after electrocution in Shikare Vast in Jamkhed taluka of the district on Monday evening.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Kakasaheb Daulat Shikare (42) and Ganesh Kakasaheb Shikare (15). Kakasaheb Shikare, a member of Balghan Gram Panchayat in Shikare Vasti of Jamkhed Taluka, and his son Ganesh had gone to apply fertiliser to the field.
At this time, both of them died due to electrocution from the MSEB overhead wires that were already broken at that place. It is suspected that this incident may have happened on Monday evening.
When Kakasaheb Shikare and his son did not return home in the evening, some family members and some villagers searched and found his body in the field near the broken electricity wire.
A few days ago, the wires on the corporation's pole in Shikare's field had broken in a storm.
The citizens had informed the Mahavitaran officials about this. But they ignored this, according to the villagers of Shikare Vasti and Balghan. The family has alleged that both died due to the negligence of Mahavitaran officials.
The villagers and farmers have demanded that an inquiry be conducted against the corporation official and a case of death be registered. Receiving information about the incident, Assistant Police Inspector Ujjwal Singh Rajput of Kharda Police Station visited the spot and started an investigation.
